How to Create an AI Agent in OmniServe

Learn how to create a new AI Agent in OmniServe by configuring the Basic Information section, including the agent name, customer-facing nickname, avatar, and interaction type.

When you add a new AI Agent in OmniServe, you start by filling in the Basic Information section. This defines how the agent is identified internally, how it appears to customers, and what type of conversations it handles.

Before You Start

You need Team Lead permission in the AI Agent to create a new agent. The AI Agent package must also be installed on your account.

Step 1. Enter the AI Agent Name

Enter an internal name for the agent. This name is used by your team to distinguish between agents handling different functions and is not visible to customers. Examples include Welcome Agent, Loans Agent, or Checkbooks Agent.

Step 2. Set the AI Agent Nickname

Enter the name that will appear to customers during conversations. If the nickname customization toggle is disabled, the displayed name will default to whatever you entered in the AI Agent Name field.

Step 3. Upload an Avatar

Upload an image to represent the agent in conversations. If no image is uploaded, a default avatar will be used.

Step 4. Select the Interaction Type

Choose the type of conversation this agent will handle. Each AI Agent is assigned to one interaction type. Examples include Direct Messages and Comments or Mentions.

Step 5. Save the Agent

Once all fields are filled in, save the agent to complete the basic setup. You can then continue to configure the agent's knowledge sources, tone, routing, and behavior in the remaining settings.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the AI Agent Name and the Nickname?

The AI Agent Name is internal, it helps your team identify which agent does what. The Nickname is customer-facing and appears in the conversation window. If you do not set a nickname, the agent name is used by default.

Can one AI Agent handle both direct messages and comments?

No. Each AI Agent is assigned to one interaction type. If you need to handle both, create a separate agent for each type.
