How to Create Your Own Knowledge Base
Add documents and URLs to the Knowledge Base and assign them to Luci so it can answer with your team's content.
The Knowledge Base lets you upload documents or add URLs that Luci uses to answer questions in OmniServe. Adding your team's support content, such as FAQs and policies, helps Luci give answers specific to your business. You can add up to 100 sources and organize them into folders.
Before You Start
- Your subscription tier determines how many total files and links you can include. Reach out to your account Manager if you need to raise this limit.
- Supported file formats are PDF, DOCX, XLSX, and TXT.
- The number of sources you can add to the Knowledge Base depends on your package. You can see your limit on the Knowledge Base page.
- Up to 500,000 characters are extracted from each URL.
Step by Step
Step 1 – Open the Knowledge Base
Go to Settings → Knowledge Base.
Step 2 – Click Add Sources
Click Add Sources. The Add Sources window opens.
Step 3 – Select a Folder
In Sources Folder, choose where to save your sources:
- Select an existing folder.
- Select No Folder. Your sources will not be organized into a specific folder.
- Click Create Folder to create a new folder.
Step 4 – Add a URL
Enter the page link in Source URL, then click Add.
Step 5 – Upload Files
Click Upload, or drag and drop your files into the upload area.
Step 6 – Review Your Sources
Your sources appear in the Added Sources panel. To remove a source, hover over it and click the remove icon.
Step 7 – Save Your Sources
Click Add Sources. A confirmation message appears: "Sources added successfully."
Step 8 – Assign Sources to Luci
Once uploaded, access the Actions menu beside a source and click Assign to Luci. She can exclusively access items configured this way.
Note: Adding a document does not automatically grant access. Unassigned items are excluded when generating responses.
