Setting Roles & Permissions

Learn how Lucidya's role-based permissions work across AI Agent, OmniServe, Social Listening, Survey, Profiles, and other products, including advanced permissions for OmniServe.

Lucidya uses a role-based permission system to control what each user can see and do across products. Roles are assigned per product, meaning the same user can have different levels of access in different parts of the platform.

Before You Start

You need Manager permission for the General Settings module to assign or change roles and permissions.

To update a user's role:

  1. Go to Settings → Users.
  2. Find the user.
  3. Edit their assigned role or advanced permissions.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Manager, Moderator, and Viewer?

Manager has full access to all features within a product. Moderator has limited access with restrictions on critical actions such as deleting dashboards or editing other users' content. Viewer has read-only access and cannot make any modifications.

Can a user have different roles in different products?

Yes. Roles are set per product, so the same user can be a Manager in Survey, a Viewer in Social Listening, and an Agent in OmniServe at the same time.

Do role changes take effect immediately?

Yes. When you update a user's role or advanced permissions, the change takes effect as soon as it's saved. The user will see the updated access the next time they navigate in the product.

What does No Access mean?

The user has not been granted any role for that product and cannot access it. Assign Manager, Moderator, Agent, or Viewer to allow access.

Can Moderators export survey or engagement data?

Moderators cannot export surveys in the Survey product. For engagements, the Export All Engagements advanced permission must be enabled separately.

What is the recommended default role for new users?

Moderator is a safe default for most users. They can use the product without changing critical settings or deleting data. Upgrade to Manager or Team Leader only when they need configuration and oversight capabilities.
