How to Share and Use Live Mode in Lucidya Dashboards

Learn how to share Lucidya dashboards with team members or external visitors, generate share links, monitor visitor activity, and enable Live Mode for real-time refresh.

Lucidya lets you share dashboards with your team or external viewers, and enable live mode to keep dashboard data refreshing in real time. This article covers how to configure sharing access, generate share links, monitor visitor activity, and enable live mode.

Setting Up Dashboard Sharing

Step 1. Configure Access During Dashboard Creation

When creating a dashboard, you'll set the Live Dashboard Access level (see How to Create a Live Dashboard for the full creation flow). The three access options work as follows:

  • Private: only you as the dashboard owner can access the data.
  • Team: any team member within Lucidya can view the dashboard.
  • Public: both your team and external visitors can access the dashboard. External users can only view the data and cannot interact with it.

If sharing with external visitors, make sure no sensitive data is included. You can restrict access to a specific timeframe, Last Hour, Yesterday, Last Week, or a custom period of up to 30 days.

Step 2. Share the Dashboard

Once the dashboard is ready, click the Share button. A popup will appear with sharing options based on your access setting.

  • For Team access, a private internal link is generated for sharing within your organization.
  • For Public access, two links are available: an internal link for team members and a public link for external visitors who are not Lucidya users.

If you need to adjust settings before sharing, click Edit Dashboard to make changes first.

Step 3. Monitor Visitor Activity

Track the number of visitors currently viewing the live dashboard using the eye icon. This helps you stay aware of viewing activity and avoid exceeding the maximum concurrent visitor limit, which may affect performance.

Accessing Your Dashboards

From the Dashboards section, you can access dashboards you've created and dashboards that have been shared with you. Both are available for quick navigation whether you need to edit, analyze, or share insights.

Enabling Live Mode

Live Mode refreshes all elements in your dashboard every minute so you always have the latest data without manually reloading.

Step 1. Open Your Dashboard

Go to the custom dashboard you want to enable Live Mode on.

Step 2. Enable Live Mode

Click the Live button in the upper right corner of the screen. Once activated, the button switches to an On state and the Live label appears highlighted. All dashboard elements will now refresh every minute automatically.

To disable Live Mode, click the button again. The label will return to gray, indicating it's inactive.
