How to Create a Survey in Lucidya

Learn how to create a Link or QR Code survey in Lucidya, including adding question types, configuring settings, grouping into sections, previewing, and publishing.

Lucidya Surveys lets you build customized surveys to collect feedback, measure satisfaction, and gather data from your audience. This article covers creating a new Link or QR Code survey, for embedded surveys see How to Set Up and Embed a Survey on Your Website.

Step 1. Create a New Survey

Go to Surveys from the left sidebar and click New Survey. Select the Link or QR Code option. Enter an internal survey name, this is for internal use only and will not be visible to participants. Click Create.

Step 2. Understand the Survey Builder

The survey builder has three main sections.

Content and Configs Bar on the left: the Content tab is where you add question types and create sections. The Configs tab lets you customize branding including logo, fonts, colors, themes, and languages.

Builder in the center: where you manage each question by adding the question title, description, and answer choices. Conditional paths are also created here.

Question Settings on the right: configure settings for the selected question including required status, length limits, and sorting options.

Step 3. Add Questions

Click the + button on the Content tab to add a question. All questions require a title. A description is optional. Dropdown List and Multiple Choice questions also require answer options to be added.

Lucidya supports the following question types: Contact Information (Name, Email, Phone Number, and Social Card), Yes or No, Multiple Choice, Dropdown List, Number, Free Text Response, Net Promoter Score, Customer Satisfaction Score, and Rating Scale.

Note that Customer Satisfaction Score is calculated by dividing the sum of positive ratings by the total number of responses and multiplying by 100.

Question Type Description
Contact Info Collect contact details from respondents.
Yes / No Simple binary question.
Multiple Choice Select one or more options.
Dropdown Single selection from a dropdown list.
Number Numeric input field.
Short Answer (Text) Free text response.
Net Promoter Score (NPS®) Measure likelihood to recommend.
Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT) (New) Measure customer satisfaction.
Scale Rate on a sliding scale.

Step 4. Configure Each Question

Use the Question Settings panel on the right to configure the selected question. The following options are available depending on question type.

All question types: mark as required to prevent skipping.

Phone Number questions: select a country code.

NPS and CSAT questions: add colored themes.

Multiple Choice questions: allow multiple selections, randomize options, or add an Other option.

Dropdown List questions: randomize options or sort alphabetically.

Number questions: set minimum and maximum values.

Free Text questions: set a maximum character limit.

Rating Scale questions: set minimum and maximum values and add optional low and high value labels.

Step 5. Group Questions into Sections (Optional)

Click New Section at the bottom left of the Content tab to add a section. Sections group related questions together for a better participant experience.

For each section you can duplicate it to copy all questions inside, change the text direction between RTL for Arabic and LTR for English, or delete it to remove all questions in that section.

Step 6. Configure Survey Settings (Optional)

In the Configs tab you can configure the following optional settings.

Redirect On Completion: enter a URL to redirect participants to after they submit the survey.

Multiple Responses Per Device: enable this option to allow the same device to submit the survey more than once. This is useful for shared devices or kiosk-style survey setups.

Step 7. Preview the Survey

Before publishing, click the eye icon in the top right corner of the builder to preview how the survey will appear to participants.

Step 8. Publish the Survey

Click Publish in the top right corner. Lucidya provides three options to share the survey with your audience: Copy Survey Link, Download QR Code, and Share on Social Media across X, Facebook, WhatsApp, and LinkedIn.

Managing Your Surveys

Once a survey is created it will have one of three statuses. The actions available depend on the current status.

Draft: the survey has not been published yet. Available actions: Edit, Duplicate, Delete.

Active: the survey is published and collecting responses. Available actions: Edit, View Insights, Share, Duplicate, Export as Excel, Archive, Delete.

Archive: the survey is closed and no longer accepting responses but all data is preserved. Available actions: View Insights, Duplicate, Export as Excel, Delete.

If you no longer need an active survey but want to preserve its data, use Archive instead of Delete. Deleted surveys cannot be recovered — all responses and insights are permanently removed. Before deleting, export your data as an Excel file to keep a record.

Frequently asked questions

Is the survey name visible to participants?

No. The survey name is for internal use only. Participants see the survey title you set in the builder, not the internal name.

Can I redirect participants to a URL after they complete the survey?

Yes. Go to the Configs tab, find Redirect On Completion, enter the URL, and save your settings.

What is the difference between NPS and CSAT?

NPS measures how likely participants are to recommend a product or service on a scale of 0 to 10. CSAT measures satisfaction by calculating the percentage of positive ratings across all CSAT responses in the survey.

Can I preview the survey before publishing?

Yes. Click the eye icon in the top right corner of the survey builder to preview the survey before it goes live.

Can deleted surveys be recovered?

No. Deleting a survey permanently removes all responses and insights. Use the Archive option instead if you want to preserve the data.
