How to Set Up X Top Trends Alerts in Social Listening

Lucidya's X Top Trends feature lets you create customized alerts for trending topics on X so you are notified in real time when new trends emerge. You can track trends globally or by specific country and add keywords to follow topics of interest.

Before You Start

X Top Trends Alerts can be created from two places: the Top Trends section inside Social Listening, or the Alerts option in the Utilities menu. Both lead to the same setup flow.

Note that X Top Trends Alerts track only the top 20 trends, not the full 30 shown on X. Trends are collected every hour, so there may be a short delay between a topic starting to trend and your alert being delivered.

Step 1. , Navigate to Top Trends

Go to Social Listening → Top Trends. Click the New Alert button at the top of the screen. A configuration popup will appear.

Step 2. Name the Alert

Enter a name for the alert that will help you identify it later.

Step 3. Select a Region

Choose Global to track the most discussed topics worldwide, or select Specific Country to track trends in a particular country only.

Step 4. Add Keywords

Enter specific topics or hashtags you want to track. This lets you filter trend alerts to only the subjects most relevant to you.

Step 5. Complete Remaining Fields and Create the Alert

Fill in the remaining required fields including notification settings and the maximum number of emails you want to receive per hour. Click Create. The alert will be activated immediately.

Once a trending topic appears in your selected region or matches your keywords, you will receive an email notification.
